Good Friday Prayer

Heavenly Father, Today we remember your Son who endured the Cross to bring us back to you. We cannot look Him in the face on this day. Yet it is to His face we are drawn. In it we see His love and compassion for us. We see His willingness to take our sin and be a sacrifice in our place. What can we do but fall on our knees and praise you Father for sending your Son whom we in turn praise. We praise you for who you are and thank you for what you have done. There are no words that can truly bring our heart's realization in the elegance you deserve. We pray that the moments we live are conscious moments of Your presence, Your life, your Word and your Spirit. O Lord we would ask that you be our adequacy in the inadequate responses we have to your will. That you be the sufficiency in our insufficiencies. Where we are empty fill us with your Spirit that we may be confident witnesses who share your truth and love with the world about us. Help us to keep the Cross before us that we may make the moments you give us your moments. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen
