Prayer for Today

Father above, You give us a new day and the beginning of a weekend. Many times we say about Friday TGIF as though your mercy relieves us from finishing what we started or looking for a way out of a task that awaits or the drudgery of labor. Yet in each moment an opportunity presents itself to watch your hand at work in our responses and the responses of others. Whether it be a boss, a project, a relationship, whatever, it is never a weekend to escape or put off the possibility of you working through us to accomplish something special, a blessing for someone you want touched and the blessing for us when we saw your hand at work. this is a day that you have made and made with purpose. fill us now with your spirit that we may discern those moments not as drudgery but as something you are birthing through us. Thank you Father, in Jesus' name.
