An old Dean Martin tune came to mind, "Your Nobody 'til Somebody Loves You." It goes on to say that '...your nobody 'til somebody cares.' Folks, that is what the Cross of Christ was all about and what the Resurrection proves, God loves each one of us and cares for each one of us.
The recent Susan Boyle phenomenon sends a real message.in three ways.
First, her own words, I want to be a professional singer...like Elaine Page (a British stage star)." there is a yearning in each heart for recognition.
Second, the recognition by others. Here an audience affirmed even a middle aged, double chinned, seemingly over the hill person can be recognized by others. "There's life in the ol' girl yet."
Third, each person has a gift to offer, a talent to share and a heart to give.
When you dare offer, when you take the risk to step out, when you face the fear of rejection full in the face, when you confront the reality of your personal world and see its opportunities, that is when something special happens that only you can initiate.
The power to do that doesn't come from within, it comes from without. It is the Resurrection power of the Holy Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead. That is the joy of the Resurrection, the good news that Jesus now brings. What was once outside is available to everyone within, within the heart, the mind, the soul and in your body. The energy of God is yours. Try it, you'll like it and everyone around you will be alive.
You're nobody til somebody loves you...cares...God does...His Cross proves it and His Resurrection seals it...
God will love you into the hearts of others.
