It appears to me that reporters start with a title that is dramatic and helps sell their paper.

They then write copy to support that title, they ae not reporting NEWS they are dispensing their own particular bias of the news.

Based on whether they support the President or they do not. Digging up past actions and press reports of years gone by does not reflect the present state that any of us are in. WE change we have all got things in our past that do not reflect how we are at present. Judging from the past does not reflect how we are acting in the present. But this helps bias in reporting when it is about whatever personality or official they are reporting on.

They need to listen carefully to what a person is saying and doing in the here and now and judge that person on those words and actions. Then we may have honest reporting but it may not sell papers or be dramatic enough but it will be honest.
