Prayer for today

Heavenly Father there is a calling from your people for strength to make this day your day. So much is happening around us that seems to engulf us. In our time we are inundated by constant media bombardment that keeps our hearts restless. They aggravate the inner fears and uncertainties that seem to linger like early morning mists. Help us to see your Son above those mists and know that they fade in the light and warmth of the Son. We groan within at the temporary things that parade as the musts of life. We are torn by the hurts and pains, the unfulfilled lives all around us. Help us to get out of ourselves and into you, Father, that we may be of help to those around us who are in real need. Restore our focus to the relationship we have with you and how you are there through thick and thin. Take what we call problems and put them in your eternal perspective, work them over and return how you think about them to us. In our hearts we really want the world to see your glory, your love and thus the way you are always working on our behalf. Thank you Father, in Jesus' name.
